The Whispering Walls of Ezo
A Tale of Love, Loss, and Laughter Amidst the Frozen Wilderness of 18th-Century Japan
It was a bleak winter's dawn when the snow began to fall, gently at first, like a blessing from the heavens above. But soon, it swirled and danced, whipping through the streets of Ezo, the frozen wilderness of northern Japan. Kana, a young Ainu woman, stepped out of her small cottage, her eyes scanning the landscape as if searching for something only she could see. The wind howled through the pine trees, their branches creaking like old wooden shutters. As she walked through the snow, Kana's thoughts turned to the man who had disappeared into the blizzard two days prior.
