Winter's Foe
A Tale of Art, Revolution, and the Frozen Landscape of Poland
In the midst of winter's unforgiving grasp, the French artist, Jean-Pierre Norblin, stood at the edge of the frozen Vistula River. The winds howled like a chorus of restless spirits, as the icy waters lapped gently against the banks. It was as if the very earth itself was mourning the loss of spring's warmth. Before him, the landscape stretched out like a canvas of bleached bone, stripped bare by the relentless grip of winter.Norblin's eyes, though, were not on the barren trees or the snow-covered fields.
