The Scholar's Brush
A Tale of Love, Loyalty, and Imperial Intrigue during China's Golden Age
As the sun rose over the mist-shrouded mountains, the morning light crept across the floor of the royal studio. Wang Qi, a master painter and courtier, gazed out the window, his mind wandering to the delicate harmony of ink and water he sought to capture on silk. The soft rustling of silk fans and murmurs of devotion from the palace ladies outside the studio walls were soon interrupted by the stern voice of the eunuch, announcing the Emperor's presence.
