The Whispering Walls of Ginza
A Tale of Murder, Mystery, and Ancient Secrets in Edo's Winter
It was the third day of the twelfth lunar month, and the winter winds howled through the sleepy streets of Honjo, Ginza. The old town was bathed in a faint mist, the scent of incense and hot miso soup wafting through the air. In a small, dimly lit izakaya, Hotei, a hunched elder with eyes like ancient wisdom, sat huddled in his worn kimono. Beside him, a young boy, no more than ten winters old, listened intently to his tale."This was the winter of the firefly's dance," Hotei's voice whispered, as he stroked his wispy beard.
