The Whispering Scrolls
A Tale of Kannon, Compassion, and the Weight of Memory
In the mist-shrouded mountains of Japan, where the snow-capped peaks gave way to valleys of forgotten time, a legendary scroll painter, Miyagawa, lay dying in his humble cottage. His eyes, once bright as the morning sun, now faded like the ink on his worn scrolls. As the physician tended to his frail body, Miyagawa's mind wandered back to the day he received an enigmatic commission from the benevolent Goddess, Kannon, patron deity of mercy and beauty. The year was 1775. Miyagawa, a reclusive artist in his prime, had grown weary of creating scroll art for the meek nobles of Edo.
