"Just pray we don't get hunted," Jax muttered, his eyes scanning the shadows for unwanted visitors.
Kaelin nodded solemnly. "We'll need to move fast. The hornets have been aggressive lately. If they detect our move, it'll be a slaughter."As they planned, the faint hum of distant wings signaled the approaching nightfall. Insects of all sorts, from tiny, gossamer-winged moths to massive, armor-plated beetles, took to the skies, filling the air with a cacophony of chirps, buzzes, and clicks.The team set out under the cover of darkness, moving swiftly through the desolate streets. Insect-demons watched with cold, calculating eyes as the rebels traversed the ruins, but Jax's sharp senses detected no immediate threats.
