"You should not have come here," he warned, his words like ice shards cutting through her thoughts.
Yada's hand returned to the hilt of her sword, her fingers flexing around the worn grip. "What secrets do you keep, hidden in this frozen land?" she countered, her grip tightening like a vice.The man's gaze never wavered, nor did his eyes flinch, as if they had been forged from the very core of the earth. "The whispers you hear are not for your ears, warrior," he hissed, his breath misting in the cold air. "Leave now, before the veil closes, and the shadows claim what is theirs.
