The snow swirled around me like a living entity, stinging my skin as I urged my horse, Raven, through the frozen landscape. The darkness of the forest loomed before us, threatening to swallow us whole. I drew the hood of my cloak tighter around my head, the weight of the leather-bound journal clutched tightly in my gloved hand.
