They sensed the shift in atmosphere, the sudden gathering of strings, and leaned in, straining to catch the faint whispers of the samurai's words.The ropes, black as the night, seemed to writhe before Ichikawa, their very presence an affront to the tranquility of the city. For in that moment, the actor was the puppeteer, and the fates, his puppets.
