The Last Rites
A tale of wisdom, tradition, and the bonds that tie us together
As the sun rose over the small village of Kowloon, the scent of incense wafted through the narrow streets, signaling the start of the Spring Cleansing Festival. It was a time-honored tradition, passed down through generations, where the villagers would purify their homes, their minds, and their very spirits.Ah-kwai, a respected elder and caretaker of the village's ancient traditions, stood proudly in front of his humble abode, baskets and brooms at the ready. The once-vibrant red oxide walls, worn by time and weather, were about to receive a fresh coat of paint.
