The Monk in Disguise
A Tale of Loyalty, Humility, and Divine Intervention
It was a chilly winter evening in the year 1191 when Brother Edmund, a devoted monk of the Order of Saint Benedict, set out on a perilous journey to deliver a sacred relic to the abbot of the nearby monastery. As he traversed the snow-covered roads, he couldn't shake off the feeling that something was amiss. His thoughts were interrupted by the sound of clattering horses and the creaking of wooden wheels as a heavily loaded wagon approached. As the driver, a burly man with a thick beard, drew close, Edmund's intuition screamed at him to flee.
