Between 1975 and 1999, Gouden Handen was a large-scale center for amateur art in the town of 's-Heerenberg in the province of Gelderland. It was known as 'the largest amateur creativity center in the world' and was located in the former Don Rua Monastery, which had previously housed the predecessor of the Africa Museum.
