On the right is the soldier, his shield bears the abbreviation S.P.Q.A. (the senate and the people of Amsterdam). In his left hand he has chains, with which he has handcuffed the man in front of him. Underneath this man lies a man with donkey ears and a broken dagger. On the obelisk are two medallions with sea symbols: above Neptune on his chariot and below the sea.
