Prince Maurits standing in a large shell of the Fountain of t' Nederlandsch Welvaren. In the shell are twelve allegorical figures that symbolize the prosperity of the Republic under the rule of Maurice. The personifications of Freedom of the Fatherland (Libertas Patriae) and Religion (Relligio) drink from the water of the fountain. The hand of God cuts the rope with which the prince's opponents try to pull down his statue. Among these opponents are Johan van Oldenbarnevelt and his sons and the other conspirators against the prince. On either side of the image the explanation of the numbers 1-14 and the letters A-H.
