Allegory of the victory in the naval battle of Cape la Hogue, 1692, Allegory of the victory in the naval battle of Cape la Hogue in which the French under Admiral de Tourville were defeated by the combined fleet of England and Holland under Admirals Russel and Almonde, 29 May to June 3, 1692. The winged Faam, together with the two victorious admirals, holds up the portraits of William III and Maria II. Here is a monument with representations of Fecamp and La Hogue. On the left the Dutch Virgin with alderman's crown and trident. Columns on the left and right with images of naval battles.
