Translated, the inscription enclosed within the heart reads, 'This little book of writing models belongs to Elisabetha Lädtermann, pupil of writing in the Deep Run School, written out for her the 16th of December, Anno Domini 1784.', Overall: 8 1/8 x 6 7/16 in. (20.6 x 16.4 cm)
