The monument is hung with medallions with images and coats of arms of the most important cities per province. The number under each medallion is the number of hours of travel from Amsterdam. The monument is crowned with a trophy of banners and weapons and the coat of arms of the States General. On the left a Batavian, on the right a man with scales and a dog. On the left in the foreground the arrival of the Batavians in the Netherlands. On the right a fisherman and a child pointing to a spinning wheel and a loom. The print also includes an explanation.
