God has made a magic tree grow for him, so that he can sit in the shade. But the next day the tree has withered, the leaves hang limp, and Jonah is overcome by the heat. He holds his cloak over his head against the burning sun. Jonah is angry about the plant and about the fact that God does not destroy the city. He talks about it with God, who appears on the clouds.
