Aquamanile in the form of a lion with a mounted female figure Aquamanile in the form of a lion with a mounted female figure Lion-aquamanile with female figure, Aquamanile of copper alloy, in the shape of a lion with female figure on his back. The object cast in cire perdue technique and subsequently embellished, the details of which are extended, engraved and punched, has the shape of a lion, which has turned its head diagonally to the right and has its tail wrapped around its right hind leg. On its back a fork-shaped tree with four protruding leaves. A crowned female figure is riveted on two of those leaves. She is dressed in a long robe and wears a jewel on the chest. She is holding her right hand on the belly, with her left hand stretched to the side she originally held something. The lion has a grinning head surrounded by a ring beard and with protruding ears, one of which serves as a spout. On the head there are three protrusions and in between there is a flap attached by a hinge, which is decorated with rococo ornament. The valve covers the hole, through which the serving object could be filled with water. Head, neck and chest are provided with strong locks. A serrated and hatched keel profile runs from the chest to the hind legs. The hole on the chest between the locks is closed after removal of the casting core. The riveted fork points are loose, the right one is not original. One of the nails with which the woman is riveted to the fork tree is made of iron. The flap on the head of the lion dates from the mid-eighteenth century. The hinge has been repaired with a piece of red copper.
