The Arminiaanse Schans in Leiden, 1618, d'Arminiaensche Schans tot Leyden (title on object), Sheet with a representation and a description of the Arminiaanse Schans in Leiden. The fortification was erected on October 5, 1617 in the Breestraat near the town hall to protect the Remonstrant-minded council and guilds. The print was probably copied from an earlier print with French verse (see FM 1327), but it is also possible that this plate is the original. Above the sconce is an allegorical element entitled 'd'Arminiaensche Bulleback'. Below the scene there is a description of the events up to September 4, 1618 in three columns and an explanation of the letters in the scene.
