Beaker, Beker with a representation of a kneeling pope, an emperor and a farmer, Silver beaker, flaring upwards, the foot surrounded by a convex profile, a circular band and a serrated blade edge. The cup has engraved representations. Along the top edge, between two horizontal strips, a border of flowers, tendrils and birds and three low-hanging motifs of volutes, bandwork and grotesques. The lower part of one of these has been ground away for the later mounted Van Sonsbeeck weapon, being a sectioned weapon with a sun above and a three-hammer hammer. Below a globe with a cross. God the Father is depicted in one of the hanging motifs walking on clouds, in both other flower vases. The spaces are filled with fruit bunches. Along the underside the kneeling figures of pope, emperor and peasant with the respective captions: GHI SULT BIDDEN, GHI SULT STRIDEN, GHI SULT WORK. On top of the mouth rim: ICK ROELOF VAN SONSBEECK FROM OLDEN BATTLE. AFTER I FEET TO ROMEN DES POUS FEET. AND DENEN DEN KAISER HAD GREETING. HAVE LET THEM MAKE. 1606 *.
