Doct. and on the right page is an engraving depicting Asclepius, with a staff with snake in his left hand. It stands on a pedestal that says Pharmacopoea Leidensis 1751, and below it is Luguni Batavorum Apud Samuelem Luchtmans and Filios. Above Asclepius, two putti hold the crowned coat of arms of Leiden. In the background you can see a pharmacy, with a man by a mortar on the left and cupboards with books on the right. Signed under the title plate. The title page contains the text Pharmacopoea Leidensis, Amplissimorum Magistratuum Auctoritate Instaurata. Editio tertia prioribus auctior and emendatior. Below an engraving with the depiction of Minerva, sitting with her left arm leaning on her shield, in a classic landscape. To the right of her is a lion with a shield in its claws bearing the Leiden coat of arms. Under this performance is Tuta sub aegide Pallas.
