Brisé fan of carved ivory, in which a central medallion on which the wedding of Cupid and Psyche is painted with watercolor, steel and silver decoration on the outer legs, Brisé fan, frame consisting of 28 contiguous legs of ivory cut ajour. On the outer legs an edge decoration of steel beads. A small silver band on the outer legs for reinforcement or decoration? Steel locking pin with push button. Decoration: in the middle a medallion on which a representation of the mystical marriage of Amor and Psyche has been painted with watercolor. This image is followed by a sardonyx signed in Greek with 'Tryphon made this'. The medallion shows how the veiled couple is led by a putto with torch on a knotted cord to the wedding bed, which is opened by another putto. The third putto holds a 'liknon' or holy basket, in which the firstfruits of wild fruits were brought to the gods, above the heads of the pair.
