Bronze spout in the form of a lion's head, Classical, 4th century B.C., Greek, Bronze, Overall: 2 3/8 x 2 1/16in. (6.1 x 5.2cm), Bronzes, Lion's head spouts were popular among the Greeks. They were used on the roofs of temples and public buildings as well as for vessel attachments. This spout was attached to a situla (pail).
