Bull's head, Late Period–Ptolemaic Period, 664–30 B.C., From Egypt, cupreous metal, H. 2.3 × W. 1.6 × D. 0.8 cm (7/8 × 5/8 × 5/16 in.), This bull's head - termed a boukranion - is flat on the back except for a loop. The form is similar to Ptolemaic Greek terracotta coffin ornaments, although this would not have served such a purpose.
