Behind the bar walks a procession of patriots identified by numbers. In the background on the right is a cemetery where Prussian soldiers are digging a grave for the fish. Following the abandonment of Utrecht by the Rhine Count and the patriots upon the approach of the Prussian troops in September 1787.
