Bust of Pope Gregory XIV Pope Gregory XIV (Pontificate 1590-1591), Pope Gregory XIV wears a beard and is depicted in full ornament, with tiara and choir hood. The statue is cut off below the shoulders, tapered downwards and becomes a cherub with wings spread, which rests on a cartouche with inscription, under which there is a profiled round pedestal. On the narrow side faces a cherub with two pairs of wings, on the cartouche the inscription: GRE-XIV. Ribbons depend on the tiara over the shoulders.
