According to the accompanying text, the man, who is about to mount his horse, is dressed in a green 'habit' with lapels, lined in the same color 'vert Dragon'. The lapels, sleeves and jacket pockets 'à la Marinière'', are fitted with white mother of pearl buttons. Under the coat a green vest with gold stripes. Yellow knee pants of deerskin. (Knee socks ?) Black English boots with silver spurs. English hat with black hatband on which is a large buckle of steel. Purple leather gloves. Two watches, one on a breloque, the other on a ribbon.
