The architect Carl Frederik Stanley was responsible for the elevation of the font with four reliefs on which Thorvaldsen worked from 1805. During the same period, portraits, including satirical sketches such as one of these Zoëga profiles and mythological motifs were of no less an importance in Thorvaldsen’s repertoire.
