Clock case, Pendulum case, rectangular with chamfered corners made of oak, lime, beech and elm and veneered with walnut, olive, maple, yew, rosewood and mahogany, inlaid with Japanese and Chinese lacquerwork. The widening base, which is decorated with marquetry of rock formations, rests on later front and back legs, the front legs in the form of lacquered dragons. The tall case has a circular opening for the dial on the front and an oval opening on both sides, filled with a brass latticework of feather-shaped C-volutes and leaf bells around a rosette, behind which is fine chicken wire. It is inlaid on all sides with Japanese and Chinese lacquer panels (partially repainted in the Netherlands) and is crowned by a lacquer-decorated cove above a toothed moulding. The crowning has a base veneered with maple on which is a dome, made of a Japanese lacquered bowl, with mock doors on both sides under pointed roofs, above which is a gallery of entrelacs.
