Coin Prusias II of Bithynia, G bronze, minted, bronze, Total: Diameter: 2.3 cm, Inscription: on the reverse BASILEO [S] PROUSIO [U], coins, History of Bacchus (Dionysus), High Hellenistic, Late Hellenistic, The obverse (obverse) of the coin shows the head of the wine god Dionysus to the right. The hair is held by a wreath of ivy (?) or a bandage, the ends of which fall down to the shoulders in the neck. The center of the reverse shows a centaur running to the right, holding a large lyre in his left hand. On both sides it is framed by the inscription BASILEO[S] PROUSIO[S] (of King Prusias). Prusias II Kynegos ruled the kingdom of Bithynia, located in northwest Anatolia, from 182 to 149 B.C.
