The platform is shown from above. The obelisk is divided in many sections. The plans of the lower half are hexagonal. Various ornaments decorate the sections, including a mermaid, brackets with urns, and an escutcheon with cherub above., Angels stand on brackets and there is a bust of a Pope on the frontispiece. At top of pedestal, seated and kneeling angels carrying a sphere upon which a saint stands. There is a dog with a torch beside him., (Study for plague monument in Piazza before S.
