Left of center, Mary Magdalene, with a halo around her head, is depicted as a rich courtesan indulging in worldly pleasures. Next to her is a cavalier, a man with a hat in his hand. Together they make dance steps to the music played by two musicians, a drummer and a flute player, depicted to the right of the pair. In the background she gallops into the woods on horseback, chasing a deer, followed by a hunting party. The dancing couple is surrounded by other couples or groups who enjoy love. In the left corner a warrior is resting with his head in the lap of a VRPW. In the center of the foreground is an entwined pair; diagonally behind them, a third couple of love, with behind it the head of a peasant poet, wreathed in leaves. In the right corner, a young woman certainly does not read a scripture text to three peasant-looking men who get into a good mood by drinking alcohol. On the far left, a jester appears from behind a tree, warning with a raised hand about the dangers of a surrender to love and pleasure.
