Esther asks the king to come with Haman to the banquet she has provided. The continuation of the story is in the background on the right. In the evening the king has the chronicles of the empire read to him. It states that Mordecai has thwarted an attempt on the king's life. The king asks Haman, who is standing by the bed, how someone who saved the king's life should be honored. In the background you can see Mordecai being driven around in the king's robes and horse, while Haman shows him around.
