Fragment of cartonnage depicting three deities, Ptolemaic Period--Roman Period, 200 BC–200 AD, Cartonnage, H. 20.5 cm (8 1/16 in.); L. 34.4 cm (13 9/16 in.), Designed to encase a mummy, this cartonnage is composed of about seven layers of linen plastered together to form a hard shell. Visible on this fragment are three gods: at the right is the creator god Atum in the double crown; followed by the ram-headed god Khnum; and then Hapy, personification of the fertility brought by the Nile River
