Glyptothek, Königsplatz, Munich, Germany, The Glyptothek is a museum of arachaic and classical art. It was commissioned by Crown Prince Louis, later King Louis I, at Königsplatz and opened to the public in 1830. In front of the central hall is the vestibule with Ionic columns. The tympanum group above it by Johann Martin von Wagner depicts Pallas Athena as protector of the fine arts. To the left and right, statues can be seen in niches.
