A doctor stands with an outstretched arm in front of him. In the room to the right you can see what happened after the man was cured (see the first three prints of the series): his family members refused to pay the doctor for his services. In the foreground a devilish figure, standing amidst medical textbooks and instruments. Below the image are engraved Latin and Greek texts and (outside the plate edge but on the same sheet) a printed Dutch text, explaining that the doctor is treated like a devil when it comes to payment for his services.
