Collection Reimers (Hamburg), clay, hand-modeled, fired (ceramic), painted (ceramic), cold painting, clay, Total: Height: 13 cm; Width: 13.3 cm; Depth: 4.2 cm, ceramic, small sculptures/small works of art, three-dimensional sculptures, grave goods, horse, Middle Archaic, Greek antiquity, Slender, stylized horse with neck and head flattened at the sides. The tail is short and flattened like a beavertail. The flared legs are not jointed. The neck is painted with transverse parallel lines; three circular lines run around the trunk. Two red stars are on the croup. The noseband of the bridle is painted on. In Boeotia, Brettidole, riders and horses are found together in graves. The horse has different meanings: On the one hand it belongs to the death and death cult, on the other hand it is a status symbol of the aristocracy. Perhaps the heroic character of the deceased is to be praised.
