Inauguration of Queen Juliana. Preparations. The 425 new gala uniforms for three honorary companies of the Grenadiers (with the Royal Military Band), Hunters (photo) and Fusiliers Princess Irene are designed by illustrator-draughtsman F.J.H.Th. Smits. The necessary funds (f 300,000) were raised by private individuals. A purchasing commission with great drive ensured that the new clothing was ready in time.
