The ink set is honored by E.N. van der Horn and on the holder the engraving JHr Mr J.N. from Puttkammer. Secretary of the Municipality of Leijden Aug. 5, 1839 - Aug. 5, 1864, to the official at the secretary E.N. van der Horn. The top of the holder is four-lobed and contains a roller at the bottom. The handle consists of two C-volutes with a kind of cartouche in the middle with stylized leaf work on the top and a tripod on the bottom.
