Inside the Behouden Huys, 1596-1597, The men during the polar night in the Behouden Huys. An openwork image of the house, with a mountainous landscape and a starry sky outside. Several men in the back of the house in their cage, on the left a man in a steam bath made from a large water barrel, most of the men around the fire. A cauldron hangs above the fire and a fox is being roasted. One of the men is sick and is wrapped in blankets near the fire. In the back left, a crew member points to the clock hanging there.
