Lane of bobbin lace with double oval in a semi-circular scallop, Lane of natural coloured bobbin lace, Lille lace. The repeating pattern consists of two ovals open and stacked on top of each other. The upper oval is slightly smaller, creating a kind of eight-shaped motif. The successive loose eights are connected by a mesh ground, a tulle ground. Along the underside of the strip runs an arched edge, forming semi-circular scallops with one eighth per scallop. The eights and the curved edge are made in linen stitching with shiny contour threads. In the openwork eights, three blocks are always made in shaped stitching. The top of the strip is finished straight. The scalloped edge at the bottom is finished with picots. The strip of lace is wrapped around a blue store card, with a blue cover. The label on the cover reads: 8 1/2 M a F1 PM., anonymous, Belgium, c. 1900, linen (material), bobbin lace, Lille lace, length 850 cm × width 2.3 cm × 2.3 cmlength 16 cm × width 8 cm
