At the top of the frame a medallion with the portrait of Charles Howard, Lord High Admiral, flanked by the personifications of Prudence, depicted with two faces, and Courage. Between the armorial bearings of spears and banners a commemorative coin with two ships on one side and the arms of Zeeland on the other. Below the portrait of Charles Howard Victoria sits on a cloud. In her right hand she holds a laurel wreath and the arms of Howard. In her left hand a chain to which are chained the Duke of Medina and other Spanish commanders, listed in the box below. On the card on the right a sea god or Triton blowing on a shell. A woman with a fish tail points to the arms of Howard in his hands. On the other side a boy on a fish carries the banner with the arms of the English Queen Elizabeth I.
