Manumission of the enslaved Christopher, Document stating on behalf of the Governor of the colony of Suriname that the young enslaved Christopher 'who is under the age to choose any profession' is granted this letter of Manumission and on the occasion is given the names Christopher Johannes Gijsbertus Vasse. Upon presentation of the letter everyone had to acknowledge Christoffel as a free person and let him 'enjoy the effect of that completely'. The letter is signed by the government secretary J.A.
