Reinwardt (1773-1854), professor of natural history. Professor C.G.C. Reinwardt was director of Agriculture, Arts and Sciences in Java. He created a botanical garden in Buitenzorg and a natural history collection. He also collected archaeological objects, many of which ended up in the collection of the Rijksmuseum voor Oudheden in Leiden during the 19th century. On the front a portrait and profile to the left, with knightly order on lapels, above which the caption: RESPONDENT ULTIMA PRIMIS and below AET.LXXVIII. On the reverse a seven-line inscription: C.G.C. REINWARDTIO NATURAE.INVESTIGATORI ET INTERPRETI PER L. ANNOS. PROFESSORI / AMICI ET DISCIPULI. D.X.IUNII MDCCCLI.
