Memorial column for the Seven United Provinces, 1793, Gedenkzuyl der VII Verëenigde Provincien (title on object), Allegorical monument with the coats of arms of the seven provinces at the top. The monument is decorated with medallions with images and weapons of the most important cities per province. The monument is crowned with a trophy of banners and weapons behind a seated personification of the States General with Freedom on the left and Peace and Unity on the right. In the left margin a windmill and a horse as symbols of agriculture, on the right an Amsterdam ship as a symbol of commerce. In the foreground on the left is Mercury surrounded by all kinds of products from the country. On the right, stream gods with fish, fishing nets, etc. Central putti with attributes of the arts and sciences, including a painting on an easel and a printing press.
