Memorial column for the Seven United Provinces, 1796, Gedenkzuyl der VII Verëenigde Provincien (title on object), Allegorical monument with vignettes of the seven provinces at the top. The monument is decorated with medallions with images and weapons of the most important cities per province. The number under each medallion is the number of hours of travel from Amsterdam. The monument is crowned with a trophy of banners and weapons and the coat of arms of the States General. On the left a Batavier, on the right a man with scales and dog. In the left foreground the arrival of the Batavians in the Netherlands. On the right a fisherman and a child pointing to a spinning wheel and a loom. The picture also includes an explanation.
