Thus, until the 1930s, Studio Diez-Dührkoop documented the adolescence of the young woman, who would later earn a doctorate in Romance studies. The photographer Minya Diez-Dührkoop (1873-1929) began working in the Hamburg studio of her father, Rudolf Dührkoop, at the age of 15. In 1906 she officially became her father's business partner and finally took over the workshop for the artistic camera portrait at Jungfernstieg 34. Diez-Dührkoop actively participated in the cultural life of the Hanseatic city and counted the artists Franz Radziwill, Emil Nolde and Max Pechstein among her models. Above all, she portrays women and children. Some families remain faithful to her studio, which continues under her name after the photographer's early death, for years. (Teresa Gruber)
