Model of an 80-Pounder Shell Gun on a Pivot on a Ship Deck, Model of an 80-pound bomb gun on a rotating slide, painted black. The wooden barrel is 55 cm long, has a caliber of 44 mm and fittings for a visor at the trumpet and at the tapes, zundgat with final elevation, grape as a breaking ring. The upper carriage, which is slightly narrower towards the front, has two cheeks with three steps, the upper parts of which are made of solid brass. The cheeks are connected by a sloping calf, a crossbar in the middle and the ashes, the soleplate lies on the crossbar and the rear axle body. The axle struts do not have wheels, but glide over the brass-lined supports of the lower carriage. Small wheels are fitted to the front of the cheeks, on which, however, the top carriage does not rest until the jack with wheels has been raised at the rear. Brackets are provided around the ends of the rear axle body which grip around an outstanding edge of the supports of the lower carriage: these brackets secure the upper carriage to the lower carriage, but can also be tightened, so that they act as a friction brake. The lower carriage consists of two longitudinal supports over which the upper carriage glides, and a longitudinal support in the middle with a hole for the swirl bolt and brass rails for the wheels of the jack, the three shelves are connected by three cross beams, all of which have wheels in the corners. The lower carriage is extended with separate pieces at the back.
