Allegorical scene with the entrance to a temple on the left, against which medallions with portraits of church reformers are hung. At the top center the portrait of Martin Luther, in the middle Calvin. In the door of the temple stands the Religion that tramples down Envy and Slander, as well as Fortitude and Hope. On the left, a crowned woman burns letters of indulgence and other pamphlets (including those by Rousseau) in the fires of hell. Before the temple, virtues such as Faith and Hope point believers in the direction of the temple. Scenes from the Bible in the background.
